TSAS COVID Update:
On August 12th, 2020, we were proud and excited to open our doors as scheduled for the 2020-2021 school year. Since then, the St. Anthony School has continued to thrive and succeed. We are proud to have been able to maintain superior academic, therapeutic, behavioral, and social growth for our students through the current challenges and unpredictabilities. We want to thank our incredible community of staff, students, families, and beyond for helping us ensure the safety and continued excellence of the St. Anthony School.
We know that our student population benefits most from in-person learning, and while it is our ultimate goal to have everyone back on campus learning in the classroom, we recognize that this isn’t a possibility for all. For our students with pre-existing health concerns, immunocompromised family members, and/or other anxieties regarding returning to school, we have continued to offer live, virtual learning. That being said, we are humbled and privileged to say that due to an overwhelming feeling of safety and protection on campus, 95% of our students are completing in-person instruction. We are adhering to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) safety guidelines, while also holding our school to our own set of high health standards. We have actively made health and safety regulations our top priority, and continue to keep our staff and students safe by:
Employing a full-time staff member to sanitize the school after lunch and in the evening
The use of three EvaClean cordless electrostatic sprayers for meticulous sanitization as well as other effective cleaning supplies
Requiring everyone on campus to wear a face mask and maintain social distancing
Separating our students into “houses” for the different school programs (elementary, middle, 9th/10th grade, and 11th/12th grade) to avoid cross contamination between students. These houses are made up of less than 30 students each, with very low student-teacher ratios.
The use of socially-distanced classroom environments
Designating separate entry/exit doors, bathrooms, hand-washing stations, and lunch areas for each house to prevent student cross-contamination
Temperature checking with non-contact thermometers of students and parents before entering campus
Prohibiting outside visitors from entering campus
We look forward to all that the 2020-2021 school year has in store for TSAS, and we feel privileged to continue to serve our students and community. We are currently doing in-person school tours. For more information, please call Admissions (214-443-1227) or complete our online inquiry form.
